Dongfeng gets into the mid-size premium crossover game with a shape more akin to a large station wagon, styled in cooperation with ItalDesign. Performance version dubbed Free DNA. On Dongfeng’s ESSA platform, with double front wishbones and rear multi-link suspension, and, in this case, a sizeable 2,955 mm wheelbase. Air suspension. Very good handling. C_d at a respectable 0,28, despite the boxy shape. Regular (annual) updates: 106 kWh from 2022, 39 kWh battery for hybrid from January 2023, new four-cylinder engine from August 2023. Well priced, especially for a premium product. Four-wheel drive appealing, especially for wet, snowy regions. Electric-only range at 210 km (for some models).
