Volkswagen Sharan (7M8/7M9/7M6). 1995–2010 (prod. 670,000 approx.). 5-door MPV. F/F, F/A, 1781 cm³ petrol, 1968 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 1896 cm³ diesel, 1984 cm³ petrol (I4 OHC), 2792 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Seven-seat minivan twinned with Ford Galaxy Mk I and, later, SEAT Alhambra (7M). Never gained a huge following, with some quality issues on early models. Comfortable cruiser, but some noise. Major facelift (7M9) in 2000, with further facelift (7M6) in 2004, by which time it was considered very dated and pricey.
