SAIC launches a second-generation Lamando, based on the same MQB Evo platform as the Golf VIII, and larger than before (now with a 2,731 mm wheelbase, 4,784 mm length). A departure from existing Volkswagens with a clean front end, clamshell bonnet, and a “dot-matrix” grille under the bumper. More of a coupé–saloon silhouette, akin to the Arteon but for the C-segment. Dual-screen interior. More bandwidth for driving assistance programs and infotainment. Power from the familiar EA211 1·4 at first.
