Toyota Vista (V10). 1982–6 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1832, 1995 cm³ petrol, 1839, 1974 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Upscale version of Camry, with trim levels all beginning with V as marketing gimmick. Well equipped. Four-door initially at April 1982 launch, five-door from August. Five-door exported as Camry. Turbodiesel 1·8 from 1983, twin-cam DOHC engine from 1984. Grand Extra limited edition in 1985, with larger turbodiesel that year. Never that remarkable, but paved the way for front-wheel-drive models in Toyota’s mid-sized sector.
