Oldsmobile Aurora. 1995–9 (prod. 136,289). 4-door sedan. F/F, 3995 cm³ (V8 DOHC). New-generation Oldsmobile, dropping the old-fashioned styling for something far sexier and sportier, on the same platform as the Buick Riviera (1995–9). C_d of 0,32. Not the best fit and finish, despite the high price. Some unwelcome plastic bits on the inside thanks to the GM parts’ bin, but excellent ride, quiet, and refined. Dual airbags, traction control and ABS standard. Very well equipped, with short options’ list. Prone to understeer. V8 was based on the Cadillac Northstar unit, but with a smaller capacity. Started strongly in sales, but dropped thereafter.
