Matra–Bonnet Djet
From AutocadeMatra–Bonnet Djet/Matra Jet. 1964–8 (1,492 incl. René Bonnet Djet). 2-door coupé. M/R, 996 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1108, 1255 cm³ (I4 OHV). Matra resumed production in December 1964 after a four-month hiatus, with a longer tail (by 10 cm) to help with luggage space, wider front and rear tracks for improved handling. More power (94 PS) thanks to twin-choke Solex carburettors, and cheaper than before. Bonnet’s name was removed in 1966, and the car became Matra Jet. Luxe model introduced with removable roof panel; prices dropped more. Also added was the 1·3 Renault 8 Gordini engine. Built alongside its successor briefly.
