Mahindra XUV700 (W601). 2021 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1997 cm³ petrol, 2184 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Originally developed as an XUV500 successor but nudged upmarket as Mahindra planned to expand its range. Wheelbase up 50 mm over XUV500. Priced cheaply on the home market, yet well equipped, with strong engines; turbo petrol unit especially powerful with 200 hp. Engines shared with Thar. Gearbox tuned more for cruising. Stronger monocoque than XUV500. Interior quality still below the competition’s, and third row not that commodious.
