2014 Chevrolet SS.jpg

Holden Commodore (VF). 2013–17 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door utility. F/R, 2986, 3564 cm³ petrol and petrol–LPG (V6 DOHC), 5967, 6162 cm³ (V8 OHV). Shown days after the top-of-the-line Calais, Commodore has a more evolutionary grille, looking less like an Opel Insignia A, and does double-duty in North America as the Chevrolet SS from the 2014 model year. Chevrolet gets 6·2, not initially offered to Holden customers. Base model now called Commodore Evoke, with larger grille but differently shaped to Calais’s; SV6, SS, SSV and Redline models have shallower grille shared with Chevrolet SS. More features to keep Commodore competitive, including use of aluminium on boot and bonnet, and underpinnings, to aid fuel economy. Wagon rear carried over. Last Australian-made car from a major manufacturer, off the production line in October 2017.

Manufacturing location: Elizabeth, South Australia, Australia

Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Commodore | Predecessors: Holden Commodore (VE), Pontiac G8 | Successor: Opel Insignia B

q.v. Holden Commodore Calais (VF), Chevrolet Camaro (2010–15)
