1962 Ford Taunus 12M.jpg

Ford Taunus 12M (G13 AL/P1). 1959–62 (prod. 195,709). 2-door saloon, 3-door estate, 2-door convertible. F/R, 1172 cm³ (I4 SV), 1498 cm³ (I4 OHV). Refreshed P1, nicknamed Seitenstreifentaunus, because of its painted stripe along the sides. No more 15M, as Ford now had the 17M to fight one size up, and focused the 12M more against the Volkswagen 1200 (1954–60), making it more competitive on price. Increasingly dated, especially with the prewar suspension and rear axle. The 1·5 was reintroduced into the range, badged as 12M Super, to help increase sales.

Manufacturing location: Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Taunus | Predecessor: Ford Taunus 12M, 15M (P1) | Successor: Ford Taunus 12M (P4)
