Facel Vega HK 500. 1958–61 (prod. 490). 2-door coupé. F/R, 5907, 6286 cm³ (V8 OHV). Uprated Vega with big Chrysler units, though the exact ones are unclear due to Facel’s own information. Smaller Chrysler unit good for 360 bhp and 400 lb ft; larger one with Torqueflite automatic had 330 bhp; 360 bhp if the four-speed manual was chosen. Still weak drum brakes and Dunlop disc brakes optional from 1959, becoming standard from April 1960. Top speed of 229 km/h (142 mph) claimed despite its weight (1,752 kg); journalist Paul Frère saw 237 km/h in his test.
