Autech Zagato Stelvio AZ1. 1989–90 (prod. 104). 2-door coupé. F/R, 2960 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Leopard-based, Zagato-designed and bodied (hand-crafted in aluminium) exclusive coupé from Nissan’s tuning arm, with turbocharged engine officially rated at 209 kW, but likely to be far more than that. A product of the Japanese bubble economy, with unusual pods on wings housing Japanese-spec mirrors; trade-mark Zagato double-bubble roof. NACA ducts on all four wheels. Autech took Leopards, stripped them to the chassis, which were shipped to Italy for the bodies and interiors to be added. Retailed at ¥18 million when new, twice that of the Honda NSX (NA1). Eighty-eight sold to the public at the time.

Manufacturing location: Rho, Lombardia, Italy

Marque: Autech | Successor: Autech Zagato Gavia
