Austin 1100 Mk III/Austin 1300 Mk III (ADO 16). 1971–3 (prod. 731,000 approx. incl. Mk II). 2- and 4-door saloon, 3-door estate. F/F, 1098, 1275 cm³ (I4 OHV). Last hurrah for Austin-badged ADO16 (at least in Britain), with new grille featuring three chrome strips, and revised interior. Still relatively capable, even if British buyers’ idea of a mid-sized car was now something much larger, such as the Ford Cortina Mk III. GT continued unchanged from the Mk II days.
