Tata Zest. 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon. F/F, 1193 cm³ petrol, 1248 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Short booted saloon version of Tata Bolt, under 4 m length to attract a lower excise duty (12 per cent versus 27 per cent). More powerful than most competitors aside from the larger-engined Honda Brio Amaze. Some turbo lag with diesel, but much better refinement than previous efforts. At launch, the only diesel automatic in its segment.
