2007 Suzuki XL7.jpg

Suzuki XL7. 2007–9 (prod. 61,407 total sold calendar 2006–12 US only). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 3564 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Last vehicle built by GM for Suzuki, for sale in North America. Abandoned the body-on-frame set-up in favour of a unibody related to Chevrolet Equinox (2005–9), Pontiac Torrent, Saturn Vue (2002–7) and Opel Antara, but with the option of a third row of seats to accommodate seven (assuming back-row passengers were smaller). Ten inches longer than predecessor, and two inches wider, making it Suzuki’s largest SUV at the time. Well equipped. Shoulder room tight compared with rivals; also beaten on interior materials. Improved power with the GM V6. Sold poorly, leading to its cancellation.

Manufacturing location: Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Suzuki | Model: Suzuki XL7 | Predecessor: Suzuki Escudo (1997–2015) | Successor: Chevrolet Equinox (2010–17)
