Second-generation Cultus, with then-fashionable and more aerodynamic looks, and upright tailgate, with wrap-around glasshouse effect (by virtue of painted D-pillars), on hatchbacks. Introduction of three-box sedan, Cultus Esteem, in 1990, replaced in 1995 in Japan by Cultus Crescent. Convertibles from 1992 to 1994 only. CVT began to be offered with this generation. Still exported as [[Suzuki Swift]] and [[Holden Barina]]; also sold as [[Chevrolet]] Sprint, [[Geo Metro]], [[Pontiac]] Firefly, [[Maruti]] Suzuki 1000, Maruti Suzuki Esteem (both Marutis were four-door models), Suzuki Forsa, Chevrolet Forsa and even, as part of an OEM deal in Europe from 1994, [[Subaru Justy]]. Replaced in North America by revamped model with 1995 model year. Introduced in China in 2000, produced by Chang’an, with G13B DOHC four. Japanese production to 1998; European and Colombian to 2004; Indian to 2007. Pakistani production of five-door hatchback began in 2000; offered with 1·0 triple, from 2007 a fuel-injected four-cylinder, and was that nation’s top-selling one-litre car. Finally deleted in 2017, just shy of 30 years for this line, replaced in Pakistan by a Cultus-based Celerio.
