Nissan Sunny/YLN 302 (B310). 1977–81 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 3- and 5-door wagon, 5-door fastback wagon, 3-door coupé, 3-door panel van. F/R, 1171, 1237, 1397 (I4 OHV), 1488, 1595 cm³ (I4 OHC). Sunny finally gets a proper update, with generous specification and huge range of models—but also confusing nomenclature among exports. Known variously as Datsun B-310 (North America), Datsun 120Y and 140Y and Datsun Sunny depending on the country—and sometimes a mixture of the Sunny name and Y tag. Fastback wagon called Sunny California in Japan; offered as the standard station wagon in many countries. New Zealand received the more conventional van-based shape for its wagon. Taiwan 1·2 sedan, made under licence, dubbed YLN 302. Fuel injection for 1·4 from February 1978; additional engines originally for US export models added to domestic range in 1980. Facelift in 1980 with a tidier, slanted grille.
