Morris 1800 (18-22).jpg

Morris 1800/Morris 2200 (18-22). 1975 (prod. 226,000 for all Princess and Austin Ambassador variants). 4-door saloon. F/F, 1798 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV), 2226 cm³ (6 cyl. SOHC). Morris version of ADO71 or Project Diablo, replacing “Landcrab” 1800 and 2200 models. Identical to Austin apart from badging, bonnet and grille: Morrises have raised section in bonnet and more pronounced grille. Wedge shape looked very modern at launch, though rumours of quality problems hurt its chances. Short-lived, replaced by marque-less Princess in a few months.

Manufacturing location: Cowley, England

Marque: Morris | Predecessor: Morris 1800, 2200 Mk III | Successor: Princess (1975–8)

q.v. Austin 1800, 2200 (1975), Wolseley (18-22)
