Mitsubishi Outlander (CW5W/CW6W). 2005 to date (prod. unknown). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1968, 2179 cm³ diesel, 1998, 2360 cm³ petrol (4 cyl. DOHC), 2998 cm³ (V6 OHC). Mid-sized SUV from Mitsubishi, replacing Airtrek (which had been badged Outlander in some export markets). New platform, with four-wheel drive system taking knowledge from Mitsubishi’s work on the Lancer Evolution. Petrol 2·4 a development between Daimler-Benz and Hyundai. Top- and bottom-hinged tailgate; seven-seat capacity. Related to Peugeot 4007 and Citroën C-Crosser under OEM deal with PSA. Major facelift shown in the US in 2009, on sale later that year.
