Lincoln MKZ (CD378). 2007–12 (prod. 215,775 sold in US only, incl. Zephyr). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 2488 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (I4 DOHC), 3496 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Renamed Lincoln Zephyr (2006), originally pronounced ‘Mark Z’ before Lincoln hurriedly insisted on using the initials. Essentially a plush Ford Fusion (CD338), which also meant a sister car to Mercury Milan. Larger engine than Zephyr, and optional four-wheel drive. Major facelift for 2010 model year, with equipment upgrade. Automatic only, fitting with Lincoln image. Average ride but acceptable handling. Hybrid from 2011 model year.
