Kia Sportage (NB-7). 1993–2002 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV, 3-door convertible, 5-door extended length SUV. F/R, F/A, 1991 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1998, 2184 cm³ petrol, 1998 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Mazda van-based SUV, initially using Mazda engines. Sold well initially in Korea, beyond expectations. Three-door soft-top from 1995. Lengthened wagon version, the Sportage Grand, from 1996, on the same wheelbase. Poor safety record and quality issues.
