Second-generation (as far as Hawtai was concerned) Santa Fe departed from the original Korean licensed model, joining the fast-growing compact SUV market. Quite a tidy design, thankfully sharing nothing with Hawtai’s “home-made Cayenne” [[Hawtai Boliger|Boliger]], the source of amusement even in China. Reasonably good materials inside, with eight-inch screen in the centre of the dashboard its highlight; the screen contents synced with both Apple and Android devices. Smaller, turbo petrol unit shared with [[Zotye T600 (2013–18)]], with turbocharger kicking in over 2,000 rpm for decent performance. Ride not the best, and less storage space than expected. Renamed Santa Fe 5 when the larger [[Hawtai Santa Fe 7|Santa Fe 7]] was launched. Electric model sold as [[Hawtai XEV260]].
