Ford Galaxie 500. 1969–72 (prod. 1,364,685). 4-door sedan, 2- and 4-door hardtop sedan, 2-door convertible, 2-door coupé. F/R, 240 in³ (I6 OHV), 302, 351, 390, 400, 429 in³ (V8 OHV). Ford’s mid-range full-size car goes on to a new platform with a 121 in wheelbase. Big, quiet, gas-guzzling, and with soft suspension for boulevard cruising. Convertible for 1969 only in the Galaxie range. Refresh for 1971. Wagons still called Country Sedan.
