1971 Ford Aero.jpg

Ford Aero-Willys/Ford Aero. 1969–72 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3008 cm³ (I6 OHV). With Ford’s takeover of Willys do Brasil, Aero was given Ford badges. Few changes other than badging. No mention of Willys in promotions from 1971. With Taunus and Maverick launching in Germany and the US, the dated Aero’s days were numbered: Brazilian test groups preferred the Taunus, but Maverick’s cheaper manufacture saw that adopted as Aero’s replacement in 1973.

Manufacturing location: Sao Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil

Marque: Ford | Predecessor: Aero Willys (1963–8) | Successor: Ford Maverick (1970–9)

q.v. Ford Itamaraty
