1980 Dodge Magnum.jpg

Dodge Magnum. 1978–81 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé. F/R, 5212 cm³ (V8 OHV). Ultimate incarnation of the A-body Dodge Dart (1970–6), filled with luxury equipment, including an AM–FM cassette–radio with two rear speakers. Electric sunroof, a Brazilian first, optional. Facelift designed by local team. Same V8 as other Brazilian Darts, tuned to run on alcohol. Short-lived as Chrysler sold its Brazilian operations to Volkswagen, which took majority control in 1979, and sales for the A-body cars dwindled into the hundreds per annum.

Manufacturing location: São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil

Marque: Dodge | Model: Dodge Magnum | Predecessor: Dodge Charger (1971–80)
