Dodge Dart (A-body). 1969–81 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 5212 cm³ (V8 OHV). Chrysler’s Brazilian flagship, built for much longer than US model, and related to the 1970–6 series. Launched 1969 as a four-door sedan, with two-door added 1970. Quality issues on early models, poor range from small fuel tank, and brakes not up to scratch, though like the US cars, they handled well. Plenty of power: 198 hp in the base model. Dart SE denoted a sporting model for 1972 (released in May), while Gran Sedan and Gran Coupé were luxury ones (from October). Power steering for Gran Sedan in 1974. Gran Sedan deleted in 1978. Also spun off the Brazilian Dodge Charger, Magnum and Le Baron, which took over from the Gran Sedan as the four-door flagship.

Manufacturing location: São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil

Marque: Dodge | Model: Dodge Dart | Predecessors: Chrysler Regente, Chrysler Esplanada, Chrysler GTX | Successor: Dodge Le Baron
