Citroën LN. 1976–9 (prod. 129,611). 3-door saloon. F/F, 602 cm³ (I2 OHV). Originally destined to have a Fiat 127 floorpan, Peugeot’s purchase of Citroën in 1974 saw the company’s small car put on to the 104 platform instead—and the result was nicknamed Hélène, or LN. To Citroën fans, this was a travesty: it was essentially a rebadged Peugeot 104 mated to a 2CV engine. Continental distribution only, and sales relatively poor.
