The C4 tag donned a prewar model range, and Citroën revived it for its C-segment entry in 2004. It would prove very successful—over two million of the first generation was made—but the name would also be applied to a small minivan as well as an urban SUV that wasn’t even on the same platform. Chinese C4s were officially known as the C-Quatre, while a four-door saloon, virtually identical to the Argentinian C4 Sedan, was called the Citroën C-Triomphe in the Middle Kingdom. Aircross crossover from 2012, originally based on a Mitsubishi design; the 2018 Chinese model was based on a PSA platform.
