1999 Citroën Saxo 1·4i SX.jpg

Citroën Saxo. 1996–2003 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door saloon. F/F, 954, 1124, 1360, 1587 cm³ petrol, 1527 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1587 cm³ (I4 DOHC). To all intents and purposes, a Peugeot 106 with a new, long grille. Mechanically similar, but to some eyes, less pretty than donor car. Criticized at the time for being too conventional by Citroën fans. Quite fun to drive and frugal. Mid-life revisions in 1999.

Manufacturing location: Aulnay-sous-Bois, France

Marque: Citroën | Predecessor: Citroën AX | Successors: Citroën C2 (2003–9), Citroën C3 (2002–11)
