BMW Hydrogen 7. 2006–7 (prod. 100). 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 5972 cm³ hydrogen–petrol (V12 DOHC). BMW 760iL-based bi-fuel saloon, capable of running hydrogen or petrol, used as a test bed for the technology. Hydrogen stored in liquid form at cryogenic temperatures, otherwise as it warmed, it evaporated; once used in the engine, water vapour was emitted from the tailpipe. However, the production of hydrogen fuel was environmentally intensive.
