Audi 80 L.jpg

Audi 80 (Typ 80/Typ 82). 1972–8 (prod. 1,103,766). 2- and 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/F, 1297, 1471, 1588 cm³ (I4 OHC). First modern Audi developed under Volkswagen ownership, related to Volkswagen Passat (B1); the estate was largely identical to the Passat Variant except for the front end, and the factory it was built in. Modern OHC engines shared with VW. Very light and economical. Exported to the US as Audi Fox. Facelift in 1976 to Typ 82, sharing a family look with the Audi 100 (C2); 1·6 replaced 1·5. The new front end eventually found its way to Brazilian-market Passat B1s.

Manufacturing location: Ingolstadt, Germany

Marque: Audi | Model: Audi 80 | Predecessor: Audi F103 | Successor: Audi 80 (B2)
