Ssangyong Kyron. 2005–14 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1998 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 2696 cm³ diesel (I5 DOHC). Ssangyong’s crossover, really a rival to the likes of the Suzuki Escudo (2005–22) and more mundane than its styling suggested. Reasonably well equipped with curtain airbags and ESP; top models had electronic air suspension and a tyre pressure sensing system. Odd styling, including shield-shaped rear lights, and Ssangyong was pushed to facelifting the Kyron after 22 months and removing the offending items. Korean sales ended 2011. Formed the basis of Roewe W5.
