Roewe e950.jpg

Roewe 950 (BP31). 2012–18 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 11·8 kWh–1399 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid, 1798, 1998, 2384 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2994 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Flagship for SAIC’s own brand, based on GM Epsilon II platform underpinning Opel Insignia A and Buick LaCrosse (2010–16), and complementing, rather than replacing 750. Proportions very similar to Buick, though pricing more competitive than its sister car. Interior also familiar to those who have sat in the Buick, though Roewe has increased the faux wood trim. Incredibly well equipped with heated seats and sound system. Not as roomy as Volkswagen Passat (2011–19) at rear, according to one source. GM engines, shared with Insignia; Holden SIDI unit for top of range. Largest engines (2·4, 3·0) deleted with 2015 update. Plug-in hybrid, e950, from 2016. Light refresh in 2017.

Manufacturing location: Shanghai, China

Marque: Roewe
