Renault 17. 1971–9 (prod. 207,854 incl. 15). 2-door coupé. F/F, 1565, 1606, 1647 cm³ (I4 OHV). More upscale version of 15, and, like that model, based on Renault 12 underpinnings. Designed under Gaston Juchet. More coupé-like than 15, with purer cabin design, different rear window styling and four round headlamps. Gordini model the most sought after, taking over from successful 12 Gordini in 1975, with five-speed gearbox and racing suspension.
