Proton Perdana. 1994–2010 (prod. 77,178 sold). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1997 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1998 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Proton gets in to the two-litre segment with a locally made version of the Mitsubishi Eterna (1992–6), initially with a DOHC four, later joined in 1998 by a more refined V6. Manual deleted 1996; four-cylinder in 2000. Multi-link front and rear suspension, as with the Eterna, but injected with some of Lotus’s know-how. Major facelift in 2003, distancing Perdana from its Mitsubishi roots.
