From AutocadeNissan Figaro. 1991 (prod. 20,000). 2-door convertible. F/F, 987 cm³ (I4 OHC). Based on Nissan March (K10) platform and mechanicals, a small roadster apeing 1950s’ French convertibles, tapping in to Japanese retro craze and buyers’ demand for unusual cars. Designed by Shoji Takahashi. Not built to last, considering it was a fashion item, and many wound up abroad. Turbocharged engine. Limited production, with 8,000 planned; 12,000 added to run. Originally sold by lottery in Japan due to high demand.
