F/F, F/A, 1997, 2351 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1999, 2351 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2972 cm³ (V6 OHC), 2972 cm³ (V6 DHOC). Larger, wider and heavier, all models now in the class 3 segment in Japan, attracting higher taxes. Removable third row of seats; six- and seven-seat options. Mid-term changes 2001, including upscale models with bonnet hump to accommodate larger grille. Sold in Australia as Nimbus. Shown in Beijing 2002 by Soueast, a JV between Taiwan’s China Motor Co. and Fujian Auto Works, as a luxury MPV; produced in China from 2004; facelift in 2006, and name change to Soveran. Good ride and handling, and usually quite refined. Practical interior, though luggage space limited.
