Short-lived (1985–9 model years) brand from Ford, as a means to bring two German models (the Sierra and the Scorpio) to the US for Lincoln–Mercury dealers. Both models were considered flops, partly due to their similarity to mainstream Mercury offerings, and were eventually cancelled due to US government mandates over standard airbags. Name is German for Mercury.
