MG GT. 2014–19 (prod. n/a). 4-door coupé. F/F, 1399, 1498 cm³ (I4 DOHC). British-styled, four-door coupé version of MG 5 Mk I, fixing the hatchback’s upright, awkward styling, sharing wheelbase. Length up to 4,612 mm, from the 5’s 4,363 mm. Rear lights described as ‘Siamese’ by Chinese press. Débuted a 1·4 Cube-Tech turbocharged direct-injection engine (a collaboration with GM), developing 110 kW (and claiming to be more economical than Volkswagen and Fiat rivals), up from the 1·5’s 95 kW. MG’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission also débuted on the GT. Upgraded InkaNet system with voice recognition and mobile internet. Chinese publicity showed the GT alongside the MGB GT, the MGB GT V8, and the MGC, tying it to the earlier models.
