New-generation ES with spindle grille, now on an Avalon platform rather than the Camry’s. First hybrid model (ES300h), mechanically identical to Camry hybrid. Well equipped with active safety features. Excellent ride with generous rear legroom; let down by uncommunicative steering. Facelift in 2015, with 2·0 added for some markets. Export only, not sold on the Japanese home market. US manufacture added from 2015.
