In the Korean home market, there was only one Kia Rio: a small sedan and wagon designed to replace the original Pride and Avella in the late 1990s. The Rio name, however, has been applied to export versions of the second- and third-generation Prides. In México and South America, the K3 took over from the Rio in 2023.
