Originally a large, sleek hardtop sedan complementing the fourth-generation Accord, called Accord Inspire, with the Accord tag dropped during its mid-term revisions. Actually on the larger Legend platform originally. Second-generation Inspire followed a similar formula. Third generation went American, a rebadged version of the Acura TL, while the fourth and fifth generations were even sold as the Accord outside Japan. The nameplate went on hiatus afterwards, revived in 2018 in China for Dongfeng Honda’s version of the 10th-generation Accord.
