Haval (哈弗) H9. 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 1967 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Biggest Haval at the time, a local rival to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (J150). Well screwed together interior, though still falling slightly short of the imports’ quality. Comfortable front and rear, with independent air conditioning for rear-seat passengers. Commodious boot, unless the third row of seats is up. Turbocharged 2·0 managed 160 kW, only just sufficient for a car weighing over two tonnes, mated to a ZF six-speed auto; some turbo lag. Reasonably refined. Solid axle at rear, with body-on-frame construction, and equipped with terrain response program, with multiple modes.
