Dodge Nitro. 2007–12 (prod. 175,510). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 2777 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 3700, 3952 cm³ (V6 OHC). Dodge cuts an unexpected model niche: a sporting version of the Jeep Liberty (KK). Boxy styling, and less practical than the Jeep. From 2010, macho model designations: Heat, Detonator and Shock. Better than average handling and fuel economy, and average on most other measures such as ride and refinement. Poor interior, as with many Dodges of this era. Not a success for Dodge.
