Deepal G318. 2024 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R/R, F/R/A, 18·99 kWh–1497 cm³, 35·07 kWh–1497 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid (I4 DOHC). Looking rugged, complete with lights on the roof, and named for the famous Chinese highway linking Sichuan to Tibet, G318 had the bulk—5,010 mm in length, on the familiar 2,880 mm wheelbase—but not really the off-road capability. Only some models had four-wheel drive. Priced well amongst the mid-sized SUV competition, and roomy, with enough tech for the modern Chinese buyer: 14·6 in screen in the centre and 10·25 in for the instrumentation. Even at the base level, claimed range exceeded 1,000 km.
