From AutocadeDaihatsu YRV (M200/M201/M211G). 2000–5 (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, F/A, 989 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1297 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Young Recreational Vehicle, based around the Daihatsu Storia in the same way its predecessor was based around the Charade. The final time Daihatsu had an independent model on the home market not shared with any other brand, though there had been rumours it could have been a Toyota Starlet. Developed for sale in Europe, using an engine based on that of the Toyota Vitz (P10), with displacement increased to 1·3, and turbo and non-turbo versions. More contemporary appearance than Pyzar, with unusual double-wedge window line, and option of panoramic glass roof. Well equipped. Paddle gearshift available, though manual models had a decent gearbox. Firm damping, below-average grip from the skinny tyres, and dull chassis, but sporting turbo models have plenty of punch.
Marque: Daihatsu | Predecessor: Daihatsu Pyzar | Successor: Toyota bB (QNC2)
