Chevrolet SS (1971–3)
From AutocadeChevrolet SS. 1971–3 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé. F/R, 5047, 5736 cm³ (V8 OHV). Although the Holden Monaro (HT) had been assembled in South Africa in the 1960s, GMSA relaunched the car as the Chevrolet SS for two years using Australian kits. Identical to Holden Monaro (HG) except for front end, with four headlamps instead of two, prominent indicators, and Chevrolet badging. SS name came from the American end of the GM empire, having adorned other performance models there.
