2003 Audi TT 3·2 DSG.jpg

Audi TT (8N3/8N9). 1998–2006 (prod. 184,041 coupé, plus 91,298 Roadster to end of 2006; includes some 8J). 3-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/F, F/A, 1781 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 3189 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Styling for TT—reviving an old NSU name and referring to the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy—originated in VW’s California design centre, and a show car was displayed at the 1995 IAA. Very geometric, Bauhaus lines, very distinctive at the time, with chrome and aluminium accents in the interior, along with stitching resembling that on baseballs. Production from 1998. Never considered a true sports’ car when compared to the likes of the Porsche Boxster (986), with uninspired chassis and dynamics. Dual clutch from 2003.

Manufacturing location: Győr, Hungary

Marque: Audi | Model: Audi TT | Predecessor: Audi Coupé (B3) | Successor: Audi TT (8J)
