Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider (serie 106.01). 1962–5 (prod. 2,255). 2-door convertible. F/R, 2584 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Convertible by Touring, derived from previous 2000 Spider. Steel monocoque, rather than aluminium using the Superleggera approach, built at new plant. Minor refresh compared to outgoing 2000, with single air intake on bonnet (rather than two) the most obvious change externally. Engine now good for 145 PS thanks to an increase in the compression ratio and three Solex carburettors. Five-speed gearbox. American version featured rubber overriders, and unique lights for the region. Last car made by Touring.
