From AutocadeAlfa Romeo 145 (Tipo 930). 1994–2000 (prod. 221,037). 3-door saloon. F/F, 1351, 1596 cm³ petrol, 1910, 1929 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1371, 1598, 1712, 1747, 1970 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Alfa Romeo rediscovers style in the 1990s, with a characterful hatchback aimed at the C-segment, distinct from the five-door 146. On Fiat Tipo 2 platform shared with Fiat Tipo (160) and later Bravo and Brava. Clever design touches from Chris Bangle such as rising window line on front door. Very good handling with taut suspension, which could compromise the ride, and helped improve Alfa’s image in the 1990s. Mid-term changes in 1997 to much improved engines. Reliability not its strong suit.
