Wartburg 353. 1966–88 (prod. over 1,000,000 approx.). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/F, 992 cm³ (I3 OHV). East German car with dated engine and chassis even when new (they could be traced to a 1938 model). Based in part on a prototype from FSO of Poland, the Warszawa 210. Exported to UK as Wartburg Knight. Estate model called Tourist. Usually used by DDR police; private buyers waited years for delivery. Facelift in 1985.
